Before I leave

Hey, hello, welcome!

As of now, I am still at home in Belgium, but I am writing this first post to officially launch my blog and therefor my adventure. I will also use this to give a little more information on what to expect.

First things first, I booked my first flight! I’m flying on the 20th of October and will start my first volunteering job the day after. It’s in north Spain, pretty much the middle of nowhere, where mostly pilgrims pass by on their way to Santiago. I will not walk there, but will comfortably take the plane and then bus to get to my destination.

The place where I’ll be residing and working for two weeks is a B&B, so I’ll have morning shifts, serving breakfast. Nothing too crazy, but it seemed like a good start. The rest of my days will be filled with rest and relaxation, writing, meditation maybe (which is completely new for me), a lot of reading hopefully, and exploring both the place and myself.

I assume most, if not everyone, reading this blog knows me personally. Meaning a lot of you are from Belgium, Dutch-speaking. I write my blog in English because even now, before my travel journey, I know a number of people who speak different languages, and I’d love for everyone who wants to, to be able to read what I write.

Okay, I think that’s it for now! I’m counting down the days until I leave – I am very excited! I hope to entertain you with my stories and experiences from abroad, so if you want to follow along, be sure to subscribe and get notified by mail when I post!:)

Thank you and bye-bye<3

Your journey has already started! I don’t know you personally but I am touched by your vivid personality & story, you are going to meet amazing people on your way, just like I do… f.e. meeting you at the Aurora concert in Brussels last night! Until next time, Thomas Nauta
