a little about me
Heya!
My name is Célestine and I’m 21 years old, born and raised in Bruges, Belgium.
Travelling and volunteering have been dreams of mine for over three years, and now that I’ve completed my studies in (photo)journalism, I’m ready to embark on this new adventure. I’m a friendly and optimistic person who loves meeting new people, exploring different cultures, and trying new things.
Photography has been my hobby for over 8 years, but I’m still figuring out my style and what I really want to capture. In addition to photography, I have a deep love for writing. Combining these two art forms is what I enjoy most, and it’s what I hope to continue doing for the rest of my life.
I began my studies in journalism with the goal of becoming a war photographer. I was taught about Robert Capa and Dorothea Lange in school and aspired to be like them. While these icons and this field still interests me, I now find myself more drawn to capturing positivity. War and conflict photography are very important, and there’s many great photographers who bring us powerful, life-altering images. However, rather than focusing solely on the pain and sorrow, I want to highlight that not all is bad. My purpose now is to portray hope and happiness in every corner of the world.
